Some Grammy Thoughts
- It has to be an Adele year right?
- Kanye not up for Album of the Year? Sham. There are at least 3 albums nominated that Ye’s album is better than hands down; Rihanna’s Loud, Bruno Mars’ Doo Wops & Hooligans, and Lady Gaga’s Born this Way. These albums are just compilations of top 40 singles. Does anyone listen to music anymore?
- Foster the People needed a a new artist nomination.
- I don’t know if I should applaud the Grammy Academy for nominating Skrillex, or if I should be upset. I’m leaning towards the latter. I feel like they gave Skrillex a nod in an effort to get “fresher,” “hipper,” and “younger.” It might be a stretch to give Skrillex a nod over Foster the People…just sayin’.
- Regardless, Best New Artist should go to The Band Perry (and I have no problem with that, Bon Iver fans).
